Dosage form and packaging
Garlic (Allium sativum) powder
Standardised allium sativum (Garlic) powder: 400 mg (equivalent to 1100 mcg allicin)
* For treatment: 2-3 tablets (3-5 mg of allicin) daily, after meals.
* For prophylaxis: 1 tablet daily.

Allium Sativum exerts antiatherogenic , lipid – lowering , antihypertensive , antiaggregatory , vasodilatory , antioxidant , antiviral and tumour growth – inhibiting . The effects are primarily due to allicin and transformation product . The allicin and oligosulfides have antiplatelet activity through inhibition of ADP, collagen and beta – thromboglubin release after collagen stimulation. Allium sativum reduces radicals liberated by cigarette smoke. The antioxidant effect of 1 mg of garlic powder is comparable of that of 30 nmol of vit. C or 3.6 nmol vit. E. Studies indicated that the drug act as a natural antibiotic with broad – spectrum antimicrobial activity against many genera of bacteria ( Bacillius , Escherichia , staphylococcus , streptococcus , vibrio , pseudomonas , mycobacteria ) , fungi , and even viruse.
