Calendula Oil

Due to the presence of Sesqui Terpene Lactone in Calendula, it has anti-inflammatory effects and heals healing, and also is very effective in the treatment of eczema, skin dryness and sunburn. The Calendula carotenoids, especially beta-carotene, are precursors of vitamin A and contribute to the anti-inflammatory and healing effects of flavonoids and their saponins. The tannin in the Calendula can improve the redness, swelling, and pain caused by ultraviolet sunburn. The saponins in this oil reduce the permeability of the capillaries, so prevent the release of plasma into the tissues, and reduce the migration of white blood cells to the inflamed area, as well as inhibit the growth of some bacteria and fungi. In a study, it was found that using Calendula-based gels and topical ointments helped speed up recovery rate and healing the wounds and variously exposed ulcers. Calendula oil is a great moisturizer for dry skin and for severely chapped or split skin.
