Sage Essential Oil

For over a thousand years, Sage has been used as a medicinal herb. Avicenna refers to this plant in his books and cites its properties. Today, Sage is used as antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-transpiration, low blood pressure, anti-inflammatory, astringent and appetite enhancer. Phytosterogenic substances in Sage cause less transpiration and hot flashes, especially in postmenopausal women, and also the phenolic acids present in it, such as Rosmarinic acid, inhibit the secretion of sweat. Sage inhibits sweat secretion, which this effect is due to tannins of the catechin group and phenolic acids such as Rosmarine. Several clinical studies have been carried out in Germany and have shown that the plant has a protective effect on the secretion of sweat. In one study, the effects of the dry extract of sage and Sage tea were studied on 80 patients with high sweat secretion. Reduced secretion of sweat was observed at 50% in both groups, But the dry extract showed more effect. Another study has shown that Sage inhibits the secretion of sweating caused by menopause.
